1954 Barratt Famous Footballers Card #39 Duncan Edwards SGC 5
This Duncan Edwards card is number 39 from the 1954 Barratt Famous Footballers collection.
The card has been graded SGC 5 Excellent.
Edwards was one of the most talented players of his generation and a key member of Manchester United’s Busby Babes. He made his First Division debut in April 1953 at just 16, becoming one of the youngest players to appear in England’s top division.
This card was issued during the early stages of his career with Manchester United. Edwards went on to win consecutive league titles in 1956 and 1957 before his death following the Munich air disaster on 6 February 1958. He is widely regarded as one of the greatest English players and one of football’s biggest tragedies.
This is a spectacular card, with only a few examples grading higher, a grail card for Manchester United collectors.
