The card was issued during Toshack’s early Liverpool years after his move from Cardiff City in late 1970. A towering centre-forward, he became a key figure at Anfield through the 1970s, forming a famous partnership with Kevin Keegan and helping Liverpool win major honours including First Division titles and the European Cup.

Toshack later moved into management and went on to coach major clubs, including Wales and Real Madrid.
