1996 Merlin Premier Gold #90 Gary Neville MGC 8
This Gary Neville card is number 90 from the 1996 Merlin Premier Gold series. The card has been graded MGC 8.
The card was issued during the 1995–96 season, the year Neville established himself as Manchester United’s first choice right back. It was a landmark campaign for both player and club. After a poor start to the season, Alan Hansen famously declared that United could not win anything with kids. Neville and his Class of ’92 teammates proved him wrong, winning the Premier League and FA Cup double.
Born in Bury on 18 February 1975, Neville joined Manchester United as an apprentice in 1991 and captained the youth team to FA Youth Cup glory in 1992. He made his senior debut against Torpedo Moscow in the UEFA Cup and never played for another club. He went on to win 20 major trophies, including the treble in 1999, and earned 85 England caps across three European Championships and two World Cups.
