The Team Tactix set was a football board game featuring 11 cards from each of 25 clubs. The card was issued during Gascoigne’s early years at Newcastle United, before his breakthrough onto the international stage.

At the time of issue, Gascoigne was still developing at his hometown club. He would win the PFA Young Player of the Year award the following year before joining Tottenham Hotspur in 1988 for £2.2 million. This is one of the earliest Gascoigne cards available.

Born in Gateshead on 27 May 1967, Gascoigne won 57 England caps and scored 10 goals. The National Football Museum describes him as the most naturally talented English footballer of his generation.
