1990 Panini FIFA World Cup #399 Gary Lineker PSA 9
This Gary Lineker card is number 399 from the 1990 Panini FIFA World Cup Italia ’90 collection. The card has been graded PSA 9 Mint.
The card was issued for the 1990 World Cup in Italy, where Lineker scored four goals as England reached the semi-finals. His equaliser against West Germany in the last four remains one of the most iconic moments in English football history. England were eliminated on penalties.
Combined with his six goals and Golden Boot at the 1986 World Cup in Mexico, Lineker finished his international career with 10 World Cup goals, a record for an English player that still stands.
At the time of issue, Lineker was playing for Tottenham Hotspur, having joined from Barcelona in 1989. He finished as the First Division’s top scorer in his first season back in England.
Born in Leicester on 30 November 1960, Lineker won 80 caps for England and scored 48 goals. He won the Copa del Rey and European Cup Winners’ Cup with Barcelona, and the FA Cup with Tottenham in 1991. He was never cautioned or sent off during his entire career.
