Born in Higham Hill, London on 2 April 1966, Sheringham went on to play for Nottingham Forest, Tottenham, Manchester United, Portsmouth, West Ham, and Colchester before retiring at 42. His stoppage time equaliser in the 1999 Champions League final remains one of the most iconic moments in the history of the game.
