This Eric Cantona card is number 199 from the 1991-92 Panini Foot 92 collection. The card has been graded SGC 3.
The Panini Foot 92 album covers the 1991-92 French Ligue 1 season. The card was issued before Cantona’s move to English football.
In February 1992 he signed for Leeds United and helped them win the final First Division title before the creation of the Premier League. By November that year he had joined Manchester United, where he would become one of the most influential players in the club’s history.
Born in Marseille on 24 May 1966, Cantona began his career at Auxerre before spells with Marseille, Bordeaux, Montpellier and Nîmes. His arrival at Manchester United in December 1992 transformed the club. He scored 82 goals in 185 appearances and won four Premier League titles, two FA Cups and two Doubles, wearing the iconic number 7 shirt with his trademark upturned collar.
He retired unexpectedly in May 1997 at the age of 30.
