1997 Upper Deck England #18 David Beckham PSA 9
This David Beckham card is number 18 from the 1997 Upper Deck England collection. The card features Beckham in an England shirt and has been graded PSA 9 Mint.
The card was released ahead of the 1998 World Cup in France. Beckham had made his England debut on 1 September 1996 against Moldova and was establishing himself as a key player for club and country. The 1998 World Cup would prove a defining moment in his career, scoring a memorable free kick against Colombia before his red card against Argentina in the second round made him the most vilified man in English football.
Born in Leytonstone, London on 2 May 1975, Beckham went on to win 115 England caps, the most by any outfield player at the time of his retirement. He is the only English player to have scored in three World Cups and the first British player to win league titles in four countries.
