1991-92 Pro Set #276 John Barnes MGC 10
This John Barnes card is number 276 from the 1991-92 Pro Set English Football collection, part of the second series covering the Premier League and Football League clubs.
The 1991-92 Pro Set was the second series of English football cards produced by the American manufacturer Pro Set. The set consisted of two parts totalling over 500 cards across all four divisions.
Barnes was in his fifth season at Liverpool when this card was issued. He had signed from Watford in 1987 and quickly established himself as one of the most talented players in English football, winning back to back First Division titles in 1988 and 1990.
By the 1991-92 season, Barnes had begun the transition from flying winger to a deeper central midfield role. Liverpool won the FA Cup that year, beating Sunderland in the final.
