The card was issued during one of the most successful periods in Leeds United’s history. The 1968-69 season saw Bremner captain Leeds to their first ever First Division title, losing only two league matches all season.
Born in Stirling on 9 December 1942, Bremner joined Leeds United in 1959 at the age of 17. Initially a right winger, he was moved to central midfield by Don Revie and became the heartbeat of the side. He made 772 appearances for the club, scoring 115 goals, and captained Leeds for 11 years.
He won 54 caps for Scotland and captained his country at the 1974 World Cup. Bremner passed away on 7 December 1997 at the age of 54.
