He made his first team debut on 17 April 2006 against Millwall at the age of 16 years and 275 days, becoming the second youngest player to represent the club after Theo Walcott. Bale made 45 appearances for Southampton, scoring five goals, before signing for Tottenham Hotspur in May 2007.
Born in Cardiff on 16 July 1989, Bale went on to become the most expensive player in the world when Real Madrid paid £85.1 million for him in 2013. He scored 106 goals in 258 appearances for Madrid, winning five Champions League titles and three La Liga titles. He earned 111 caps and scored 41 goals for Wales, both national records.
